Albany Symphony Orchestra will host Water Music New York, a free waterfront concert and festival, on July 2 at Jennings Landing. Free parking on-street and in the Riverfront Garage.

New Meters, App Launched by ParkAlbany


Albany parking services are moving into the 21st century. In a new pilot program, ParkAlbany has installed new meters and launched a mobile payment app (ParkAlbany) that allows users to pay for parking on their smart phone. During the test program, 12 new meters are placed on State Street between Eagle Street and Broadway with the goal of the capital upgrade to offer a hassle-free experience for residents and visitors.

The Albany Parking Authority has also also launched a newly designed website at ParkAlbany.com.

Palace Performing Arts Center Backstage Ball


Join more than 300 guests at the historic Palace Theatre, downtown Albany's premier destination, for an evening of arts and entertainment throughout the grand theatre on March 24, 2018 from 6:00 - 10:00 PM. Highlights include specialty cocktails, food stations and entertainment. Each spring, the Backstage Ball raises unrestricted funds to support free arts education programming, low cost and free community movies for the entire family, and performing arts experiences that reach thousands each year.

Schedule Announced for Outdoor Movie Series


The Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) is proud to announce its new 2017 outdoor summer entertainment series, Bites Camera Action. Combining the Fork in the Road food truck events and Deja View outdoor movie series, Bites Camera Action offers six evenings in downtown Albany’s Tricentennial Park complete with films, food vendors, live music from the area’s best bands and DJs, movie trivia, and games for all ages. A different movie will be screened each event night after food vendors shut down.

Scrim on Albany's Oldest Building Revealed


Historic Albany Foundation has unveiled two large graphics on the Van Ostrande-Radliff House, Albany's oldest existing building that's also known as 48 Hudson Avenue. The "This Place Matters" project was introduced in mid-June and is intended to expand awareness about 48 Hudson and its significant as Albany's oldest remaining urban Dutch building in the Hudson Valley.
