LOCAL CATERER BRINGS BIG CITY FLAIR TO DOWNTOWN ALBANY VENUE

ALBANY, N.Y. – Soaring 40-foot stone columns, an intricately detailed ceiling, ambient amber lighting, lavish décor and abundant space will make you feel as if you stepped inside a major “metropolitan” ballroom without leaving downtown Albany. Classé Catering of Colonie, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary, now offers a taste of the big city at 11 North Pearl Street. The venue will be used by Classé for private catered events. “After years of talking with our clients and listening to their needs, we now feel as if we’re filling a void for event space in downtown Albany. People looking for this type of setting and experience will not have to look any further,” said Classé Catering owner, Brian Palazzolo.

The newly renovated building, formerly the Home Savings Bank, officially opens its doors Thursday, April 30th with an invitation-only premiere party and ribbon-cutting ceremony beginning at 5 p.m. Guests will enjoy live music from “Soul Sessions” with Garland Nelson, guided tours, signature cocktails, hors d‘oeuvres and a specialty act. Also, Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings will take part in the evening’s festivities. “On behalf of the City of Albany, I am always proud to see an empty historical structure become useable again. This renovation is testament to the City’s commitment to revitalization and development, and I look forward to the positive economic impact this project will have on downtown Albany,” said Mayor Jennings.

Classé Catering will book 11 North Pearl Street for wedding receptions, corporate functions and political fundraisers.  Features of the venue include a luxurious grand foyer, grand ballroom, “velvet” lounge, the “vault” lounge, executive dining room, bridal suite and powder room, and additional amenities like valet parking, doorman service, host/security and trolley service to downtown hotels and nightlife. “Brian Palazzolo is a young entrepreneur representing just the demographic the BID is reaching out to - he understands the value of a downtown Albany location as well as the advantage of the spectacular architecture of 11 North Pearl as distinct assets to growing his business.  This Event Centre will fill a need for special events and creative meeting space and be a wonderful addition to downtown Albany as a destination, “commented Pamela Tobin, Executive Director of the Downtown Albany BID.

The first floor of 11 North Pearl Street can accommodate up to 200 people for dinner and 400 people for a cocktail reception. The second floor can accommodate smaller parties as needed. Classé Catering is currently booking events for 2009/2010. For more information contact Leanne Lake at 690-0293 or email Leanne at llake@classecatering.com.
