Dale Miller Grand Opening and Reception
to Benefit the Classroom Enrichment Program

Albany, NY - For the past 20 years, Dale Miller’s name has been linked to some of the best restaurants in the Capital Region. Now, he’s undertaking his very own restaurant, aptly named Dale Miller, at 30 S. Pearl at Omni Plaza in downtown Albany. The Grand Opening and Reception will be held today, April 29, 2009 beginning at 5:30pm, with all of the proceeds from the event to benefit the Times Union’s Classroom Enrichment Program.  Tickets for the event may be purchased at the door this evening.

“We’re very excited to be starting what we expect will quickly become the premier restaurant in downtown Albany,” Miller said. “And, we’re excited to be showcasing our offerings during this once in a lifetime event.”  In addition to the grand opening and reception, Miller will also receive the Global Master Chef Medallion from the World Association of Chefs Societies on April 29th. He is one of only 300 global world master chefs and the only one in the Capital Region. Many of his friends and fellow certified master chefs will be on-hand to help Dale celebrate this achievement.  Fritz Sonnenschmidt, Anton Flory, Noble Masi and Ferdinand Metz will all be showcasing their culinary talents during the Grand Opening and Reception.  “I am honored that so many of the best chefs in the world have chosen to join us for this event,” Miller said. “A collection of talent like this rarely comes together and for the people living in the Capital Region to be able to experience it on such a special night is truly an experience not to be missed.”

The Times Union’s Classroom Enrichment Program serves nearly 500 teachers in nearly every local school district. The main goal of the program is to provide newspapers and other learning tools for teachers and students at no cost to local school districts.
All of the proceeds from the night will go to help these local teachers get learning tools for their classrooms. “We are very thankful to Dale Miller and the entire restaurant staff for all the generosity they are showing us,” said Greg Stapleton, director of the Classroom Enrichment Program. “The Times Union is proud to be associated with this signature event.”

Dale Miller is located at 30 S. Pearl Street in Omni Plaza in Albany, New York. It will include a full service eponymous restaurant with outdoor seating for 60, a penthouse level facility for signature events complete with a skytop terrace, and a To-Go kiosk that will open in August.
