Fairfield Inn & Suites Albany Downtown Now Open
ALBANY, NY… The Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) held a grand opening and ribbon cutting for the Fairfield Inn & Suites Albany Downtown at 74 State Street in January 2016. The property, formerly 74 State Hotel, was completely renovated to reflect the Fairfield flag from new carpets, bedding, and decor in the 75 rooms and suites, which are now equipped with ample workspaces, and conversion of a second-floor bar and restaurant into a state of the art fitness center that overlooks State Street.

Downtown Albany BID Announces New Assistant Director

ALBANY, NY - The Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) is proud to announce Schuyler Bull as their new Assistant Director. Mr. Bull will be managing the staff and overall day-to-day operations of the organization, while providing expertise on marketing, special events, and urban issues. He will also work with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to create and implement strategic planning initiatives to develop and sustain a vibrant downtown.
It's Back: The Excelsior Pub Opens in Downtown Albany

ALBANY, NY… The Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) held a grand opening for The Excelsior Pub’s new location at 54 Philip Street on November 17, 2015. Albany Mayor Kathy M. Sheehan, Downtown Albany BID executive director Georgette Steffens, and owner Jason Bowers spoke at the event. Previously located on Delaware Avenue, the pub features beer, wine, and liquor made in New York and fare from through the state’s regions.
