State Street Rehabilitation April - October 2011

 

This project involves the rehabilitation of State Street from Broadway to Eagle Street.  The major components of this project include the milling and resurfacing of the roadway, curb and sidewalk replacement, new median planters, new traffic signal at Lodge St. and landscape and streetscape amenities. ADA-compliant amenities will be provided throughout State Street.  All construction will occur within the City right-of-way. The contractor performing the work is Hudson River Construction Company, Inc.  The contractor will commence work in mid-April of 2011 and the project will be completed in fall of this year.

Parking in Downtown Albany is both easy and affordable!  With over 16 garages and lots, parking spaces are in abundant supply at reasonable prices.

Below is a guide to the different ways to access parking and the information that you will need once you arrive.

Metered Parking
Plenty of metered parking spaces can be found along downtown streets. These spaces are FREE every weekday evening after 6:00 p.m. and on weekends and holidays (meter charges apply during weekday mornings and afternoons). For weekday parking meter rates, click HERE. (Please be aware that Thursday - Saturday night parking restrictions apply along N. Pearl Street. Please read signs carefully.)

Garages & Lots
A large number of public garages and surface lots offer daily, monthly and event-related parking in and around Downtown Albany. All are conveniently located within a few blocks of downtown's most popular dining, performance and event destinations. However, many lots in downtown are privately owned, so please read signs carefully regarding parking and payment.
