The Downtown Albany BID is pleased to host our 2025 Annual Meeting on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the Country Inn and Suites by Choice. We're thrilled to announce our speaker for this year's event, MIG, a nationally recognized planning and economic firm selected by Empire State Development to lead the Governor's effort to revitalize the Downtown core of Albany.
Georgette Steffens, Executive Director, will provide a brief overview of the BID's 2024 accomplishments, announce the new slate of BID Board of Directors, and present awards to celebrated community members for their commitment to our District, followed by a presentation led by MIG. A catered lunch and select beverages will be provided to guests.

Created in 2013, in honor of founding member and inaugural Chairman of the Downtown Albany BID, the James M. DiNapoli Award is presented annually to an individual, organization, or business that exemplifies Mr. DiNapoli’s spirit of partnership and community-building in shaping the direction of downtown Albany.
2025 Luminary Awardee
Michael and Dora Philip, The Hollow Bar & Kitchen
Created in 2018, the Downtown Luminary award recognizes an individual or organization that acts as a “leading light” in the development of Downtown’s small business, arts, and/or residential communities.
About MIG
MIG will lead a team of experts in urban strategy, public space design, community engagement, and development feasibility and work with ESD and local stakeholders to develop a roadmap focused on catalytic projects, bundled investments, and a long-term growth strategy for downtown Albany. The strategy will prioritize projects that are ready to go, supported by the community, and capable of attracting housing, business, and new activity. It will ensure that Albany’s revitalization is not only inclusive but also enduring.
