Self-driving Car Being Tested in Albany
Audi of America will conduct a self-driving vehicle demonstration in Albany near the state Capitol on June 13, the first such event in the Empire State, following an announcement earlier this month by Gov. Cuomo that New York State is accepting applications from companies interested in testing or demonstrating autonomous vehicles on public roads. 
Downtown is Pawsome Garden Party
The Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) is proud to announce our 2017 free outdoor Placemaking exhibit:  Downtown is Pawsome. Celebrating a local landmark and American icon, this year’s program will feature regional artists customizing twenty 3-foot-tall sculptures of Albany’s famous canine resident Nipper. These painted pups will help creatively reinvent the spaces shared by our neighbors, employees and visitors from June 2017 to May 2018.

Historic Albany Foundation has launched cultural heritage tourism podcast Listen Albany, and the inaugural episode invites you to take a stroll down Pearl Street. The podcast takes you from the Times Union Center to the Palace Theatre, and shares the rich history of one of Downtown's busiest thoroughfares and various side streets.

RFP | Downtown Dog Park Fencing
The Downtown Albany BID will be constructing a dog park early this summer in Wallenburg Park (corner of Broadway and Clinton Avenue) and RFPs are currently being sought for the fence portion of the park.
Dining Out for Life Returns April 27
Dining Out for Life, the annual fundraiser where restaurants across the country donate a portion of their proceeds to AIDS service agencies, returns April 27. In Downtown, the following eateries are participating with the event benefiting Alliance for Positive Health. For more information on menu or hours, contact the participating venues. 
NCAA Chooses Times Union Center for Championship Site
The NCAA has awarded the 2019 Division I Women’s Basketball Regional and the 2020 Division I Men’s Basketball First and Second Round championships to the Times Union Center.
