For Signs of Greatness, Head Downtown
As Downtown is in the midst of transforming into Albany’s newest neighborhood, the Downtown Albany BID is taking a step back in time to showcase from where the Capital City has come. This fall, the BID will install Signs of Greatness: Albany Stories throughout the District. Comprised of 11 interpretive panels which will be permanently displayed, the exhibit will highlight Albany’s Dutch founding and early development with state, national, and arguably international, significance.
Science Cafe Returns
It's covered birding and evolution - next, it will will take on historical archaeology. What is "it"? It's The Science Cafe, and it returns October 17 at 6:00 PM at City Beer Hall with the program titled "Beverwijck, a 17th-c. Dutch Village, Above and Below Ground".

PARK(ing) Day 2016
PARK(ing) Day is a annual open-source global event where citizens, artists and activists collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public places. Legendary Animator Ron Campbell Exhibits in Downtown
In partnership with Albany Center Gallery and Downtown Albany Business Improvement District, Downtown will welcome legendary animator and director Ron Campbell for a three-day exhibit at 346-348 Broadway (R.B. Wing Building).

Rising Star Chef Nominations Open for Wine & Dine for the Arts
The Albany Chefs' Food & Wine Festival - Wine & Dine for the Arts - returns January 12-14, 2017 at the Hilton Albany in Downtown. Drawing thousands of people to the weekend-long event, the drool-worthy festival includes a Rising Star Chef competition, the 6 winners of which are invited to cook at the two grand tastings.
