PearlPalooza lineup announced

ALBANY – Remarkable Liquids presents PearlPalooza, downtown Albany’s highly-anticipated, free, all-ages music festival, returning for its 13th year on September 17 from 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM. Produced by WEQX, the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID), and Sugar Productions, the event includes a diverse lineup of locally- and internationally-acclaimed musical acts, MVP Health Care's YogaPalooza mass yoga gathering, and high-quality local vendors at the O'Connell & Aronowitz Vendor Zone - all just steps away from some of downtown Albany’s finest dining, retail, and entertainment establishments.

All performances will take place at N Pearl Street & Sheridan Avenue. Attendees are encouraged to enjoy food, beverages, retail specials, and events from nearby businesses.

This year’s PearlPalooza features performances from:

Phantogram (DJ set): 6:00 PM
Lauded as an experimental and alternative band and one that’s never been married to a particular genre, Phantogram – comprised of lifelong friends Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel – have continued to change the zeitgeist for almost a decade by consistently challenging it with their signature blend of hard-hitting beats, guitar driven dark psychedelia and electronic pop. Since the arrival of 2010’s debut release, Eyelid Movies, the duo has amassed over a billion streams, achieved one platinum-certified single, two gold-certified singles, collaborated with legends such as Tom Morello, Billy Corgan, The Flaming Lips, and Miley Cyrus, partnered with Big Boi of Outkast to form supergroup Big Grams, headlined sold out shows worldwide, become a festival staple and toured with artists including Arcade Fire, The xx, Muse, M83, alt-J, and more. The duo will spin a mix of their songs and influences as part of this special DJ set.

Whole Damn Mess: 4:30 PM
Packing a punch with their unbridled energy and songcraft, the Los Angeles band - Don Miggs, C.Todd Nielsen, Lawrence Katz, and Greg Hansen - forge an instant connection through familiar rock and roll sounds and anthems. They approach music with a clear perspective on reality and an understanding of the challenges to maintain a piece of yourself in the face of mounting responsibilities.

The Kaleidoscope Kid: 3:00 PM
Arizona newcomer The Kaleidoscope Kid is here with his self-titled Suburban Noize Records album debut. Blending counter-culture music with his broad musical and personal appeal, The Kaleidoscope Kid is a gifted songwriter, artist, and designer. With a humble and thoughtful approach to every interaction, it is clear that he has found clarity in his inner-self. He is wise beyond his years and breaks the stereotypes of a typical rockstar or musician. It is that much sought-after wisdom that guarantees The Kaleidoscope Kid to induce a sense of sonic nostalgia to hungry mainstream audiences.

Precious Metals: 1:30 PM
Precious Metals is a solo endeavor led by Troy, NY singer-songwriter J Lee White, featuring a rolling cast of contributors. The band’s high energy alt-rock sound pulls from the early 2000s emo explosion and 2010s indie rock revival. Precious Metals is a true amalgamation of White’s experience in the bolstering Upstate NY music scene. White has spent the past year drawing from his musical and life experiences, writing and recording the new EP Candid Chemicals. Laid down in the basements and bedrooms of the Capital Region, the project takes on the characteristic DIY grit of its local music scene and adds a bit of polish and shine.

BattleaXXX: 12:00 PM
BattleaXXX is a hard-rocking trio of ladies from Albany, New York, who take their fun very, very seriously. They are at turns raunchy, dark, and hilarious, inspired by AC/DC, Childbirth, and Zappa. Expect a relentless live show experience with sweat and crumbs and some faux-operatic bellowing. "[BattleaXXX] will surprise, shock and delight you; the sassy, catchy tunes and over-the-top clever lyrics will follow you for days after, making you come back again and again..." - Nippertown.com
