Business owner expands, moves businesses to central Downtown location

William Street investments add color, light
The Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) celebrated the culmination of significant investments made to the William Street pedestrian walkway with a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by a grand opening event. Updates to William Street - located one block west of S Pearl Street between Beaver & Howard Streets, and adjacent to the MVP Arena - include new overhead lighting, colorful street furniture, and an expansive 150-foot-long sidewalk mural by local artist Eugene O'Neill.
William Street
Completed in 2022, investment by the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District added light and color to the William Street connective corridor. Updates to William Street - located one block west of S Pearl Street between Beaver & Howard Streets, and adjacent to the MVP Arena - include new overhead lighting, colorful street furniture, and an expansive 150-foot-long sidewalk mural by local artist Eugene O'Neill. With the addition of street furniture, the space also acts as an extended patio for nearby restaurants as patrons can enjoy a wide variety of take-out options in a comfortable seat on William Street.
Paint and Pour Up newest business for entrepreneur Kevin Skeen
A new entertainment destination was welcomed to downtown Albany on June 14 as a ribbon cutting ceremony was held for Paint and Pour Up. Joining Owner Kevin Skeen and Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) Executive Director Georgette Steffens in celebrating Paint and Pour Up at its 61 N Pearl Street location were Mayor Kathy Sheehan, Assemblymember John McDonald’s Community Liaison Michael Saccoman, and Albany County Director of Policy and Research Michael McLaughlin.
